I have been trying to shoot more film lately. Particularly medium format color and black and white. A couple of observations: I’ve become way too reliant on chimping on a digital; I need to take better notes of basic conditions to replace the lack of information available on a digital photo; and it feels like forever between shooting and getting developed scans back from the lab.
Anyway, I spent a day in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with a group of fellow photographers. I was mostly shooting with a Hasselblad 501c, and supplementing with digital. I actually took about 30 film shots and maybe 300 digital (almost all of which were around sunset on Clingman’s Dome).
I feel like a 1/10 to 1/20 keeper ratio is pretty good for me when I shoot digital. For film, for now, maybe 1/30 would be a good goal.
